The single-engined PiperJet will be powered by a Williams FJ44-3AP turbofan. The engine has a “straight duct air intake” design mounted on the vertical stabilizer, similar to a McDonnell Douglas DC-10. The selling price is around US$2.2M, and Piper announced that they had received 180 pre-orders. Deliveries will start in mid 2013.
