China’s civil aviation authority has cleared the country’s biggest-ever helicopter for domestic use. The 13.8-ton AC313 is the latest advance for China’s ambitious aerospace industry.

After a flight lasting 12 hours 59 minutes, using no fuel and propelled by solar energy alone, Solar Impulse HB-SIA landed safely in Brussels. The solar powered aircraft departed Switzerland and was piloted by André Borschberg.

Swiss adventurer Yves Rossy soared above the Grand Canyon in his custom-built jet suit, his first such flight in the U.S. In previous flights, he has successfully rocketed over the English Channel and Swiss Alps.

It was a spontaneous airshow. A group of vintage aircraft passing through Provo put on stunning performances overhead the airport and I have a few snapshots which I’d like to share with you. Could this be a precursor to a new kind of tourist attraction in the Turks and Caicos Islands? Let’s see what power these photos have.

There was an addition of three more flights to the peak hours of 1 – 4 p.m. JetBlue with two flight and Continental with one. There are only five available stands now, while construction of additional parking stands are on the way.

Seaplanes are making a comeback, thanks to the Dornier Seastar ALL-COMPOSITE amphibious flying boat. The Seastar CD 2 aircraft is powered by two inline Pratt & Whitney PT-6 turboprop engines. It features state-of-the-art cockpit avionics, exterior and interior design, layouts, accessories, and comfort systems.
